Blending Modes

I perceptively dedicated myself to get good pictures for this assignment since I felt it was necessary for such an awesome topic. The blending modes can be used to mix pictures well together. In this one, the background is a simple basketball game my little sister had in her high school. Then I decided to blend our dogs in the sunlight from the outside door of the gym (to make it look more realistic) and a rhino I captured during a trip to Lincoln Park zoo. Then I added my little sister in the middle of the whole picture.
Color correction was the first thing to go for all of the added pictures. I had to make sure they looked good when I started blending them, so making sure the hue have a consistent contrast and brightness was really important. The rhino was the most troublesome picture to deal with, since I took the original picture outside and it has a lot of light on it. I had to also make sure it reflects some of the light that everyone in the picture was showing (the room was Bache or close to it).

Color Correction two: Enhancing a Composition

For this assignment I took a picture of my little chiguagua dog named Iria. The way I started enhancing this picture was the focus on the main subject first and then the surroundings. Using the vibrancy tool was really good in use for the brightness of the colors in her hair. It has green, blue, yellow and red in the hair, which made it a little hard to change, but all I had to do was balance them out (excluding the other colors). I did mess around with it at first just to see how the colors can end up, but then I realized I shouldn't use to much saturation at this point cause it can make the picture more blurry during the use of other tools. Using the Hue/Saturation tool proved to be very useful in changing the saturation. Unlike the vibrancy tool, this one allowed me to change the saturation of specific hues (in addition with lighting).

Changing the saturation of specific colors was really helpful during the assignment, but when I wanted to subtract some of the background color and add light to it, subtracting the saturation was not a good idea. It left the image dull and emotion less every time. So I used the color balance tool to take out color from the highlights in the picture. I must say, this tool is one of my favorite ones to use when color correcting an image. It didn't really seem necessary to put a photo filter to this Image.
